Fishing

The amount of fish in this area is astonishing, even by Northern Norwegian standards. Fishing for halibut has proven to be especially good around Rolvsøya. This is due to rapid currents in the area and an appropriate structure of the sea bed. The largest halibut caught weighed an incredible 165,5 kg and each year there are several catches above the magical two meter mark. Something to keep in mind however is that halibut fishing is both difficult and a test of patience, but if you wish to catch your first ever halibut this halibut-rich location offers all the possibilities for doing so. During 2015, among other catches, there were several halibut over the magical two meter mark with the largest one measuring 219 cm which represents a weight of 143,8 kg according to charts. The cod fishing is also very good. There are quite a few fish caught between 3-15 kg and annually there are catches over 20 kg as well. The largest summer cod during 2015 weighed as much as 28 kg+. Especially the beginning of the season (April/May) is usually very good for cod. You can also catch coalfish up to 17 kg during the summer. Furthermore, there is plenty of wolffish and haddock around Rolvsøya and there is potential for large red fish within reasonable distance. In 2010, red fish up to 8,77 kg were caught here. Rolvsøya is also known for its good fishing for the smaller flatfish such as plaice, common dab, etc. Especially the fishing for plaice is very popular and catches between 1-3 kg are not uncommon in these waters.

Apartments

We have 5 apartments, all with ocean view and location a few meters from the pier and ocean. All apartments have combined kitchen and living room. They are all fully equipped with all the things you need for preparing your own meals. Bedlinen, towels and end-cleaning are all included in the price. When more than 4 people stay in an apartment, we charge 200 NOK extra per night per person. If there are 5 people, you pay 200 NOK extra per night, if there are 6 people, you pay 400 NOK extra per night etc.. The price per night for an apartment is 1750 per night.

 

"Havet" - New residential unit from June 2017. Lliving room, kitchen, bathroom and storage room with heated floors, 2 bedrooms. Max 4 persons. All equipment, TV and internet. All single beds. 

 

"Glød" - New residential unit from July 2017. Living room, kitchen, bathroom and storage room with heated floors, 2 bedrooms. Max 4 pers. All equipment, TV and internet. All single beds. 

 

"ANNA Mathea" - Living room, kitchen, large entrance hall, 2 bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms. Handicap accessible. Max 6 people, 2 bunk beds. All equipment, TV and internet. Outside seating area.

 

"BALDER" - Living room, kitchen, entrance hall, 3 bedrooms (1 with double bed) 2 bathrooms. Max 7 (or 8 if 1 couple in doublebed), 1 bunk bed. Charming apartment with a dining area for six (extra chairs if more) All equipment, TV and internet. Outdoor Seating Area.

 

"VILLA BUNGALOW AURORA» Detached bungalow on 2 levels with kitchen, living room with wood stove, porch, 3 bedrooms. 1st floor, entrance, 1 bedroom and bathroom. 2nd floor. Living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, exit porch. All equipment, TV and internete. Accommodating up to 9 people, recommended 6-7. Of which 3 bunk beds.

Boats

We have 6 aluminium boats (2*21FT/75HP and 4*20FT/75HP). The price for a 20FT boat is 1350 NOK per day. The price for a 21FT boat is 1500 per day. All boats are from 2016 and 2017! In addition to boats tourists can also rent fishing gear (300 per week) and survival suit (300 per week). We also sell a selection of bait. The price is exclusive gasoline, that you also can buy from us in Tufjord Brygge.
